Perez: Let’s go on a run

LEICESTER players ended their traumatic week by kneeling in silent prayer in a Bangkok temple for the man they called ‘boss’.

Less than 24 hours after paying tribute to club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha by beating Cardiff in their first game since the helicopter disaster, the Foxes were in Thailand to pay more private and personal respects.

The squad flew to the Far East following Saturday’s game, with keeper Kasper Schmeichel, who admitted he was shaking during the warmup against Cardiff, among the Leicester playing staff at a Bangkok temple yesterday.

Club captain Wes Morgan, striker Jamie Vardy and manager Claude Puel were also there, dressed in black suits, white shirts and black ties, to witness part of the week-long funeral.

The Foxes squad then attended services and met with Srivaddhanaprabha’s family in the Thai capital, where they will be at more services today before returning home tomorrow.

Schmeichel said: “I feel an overwhelming sense of pride of being part of the family that Vichai built and the extended family of Leicester City.

“It was nice to get a win to take to Thailand and hopefully we did his family proud.

“You couldn’t ask for a better chairman. There are few people who come along in this life that have an impact on you. He had that on me and so many people, AYOZE PEREZ urged Newcastle to use Saturday’s first Premier League victory of the season as a springboard.

The Spaniard headed the winner in their 1-0 win over Watford, ending an 11-game wait for three points.

And he said: “We are climbing the table – finally. We now have to keep this winning feeling. We must go again next week against Bournemouth. This gives us a lot of confidence.”
