May tackles Brexit fears
THERESA May desperately tried to convince pro-Brexit ministers she won’t strike a withdrawal deal “at any cost” yesterday.
Leave backers in her top team fear she is poised to agree a pact that may undermine the 2016 referendum result.
Ministers are on standby for an emergency Cabinet meeting in days amid claims a deal is close.
But the PM’s spokesman warned: “There remains a significant amount of work to do.”
