May is accused of border ‘betrayal’

-

THERESA May’s allies say she is guilty of a “betrayal” over the Brexit customs border.

After Mrs May wrote to the Democratic Unionist Party its leader Arlene Foster said: “It appears the PM is wedded to the idea of a border down the Irish Sea with Northern Ireland in the EU single market regulatory regime.” DUP Brexit spokesman Sammy Wilson accused the PM of “total betrayal”.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister yesterday laid wreaths in Mons, Belgium, at the graves of the first and last British soldiers to be killed during the First World War.
