£1.20 bet on football acca scoops £55k

RESULT Coral paid out A FOOTBALL fan has won £55,089 by getting nine selections right with a £1.20 accumulator bet.

The midweek wager, placed with bookie Coral, correctly predicted Man United to beat Juventus in the Champions League with both teams scoring.

It also included Hoffenheim’s draw with Lyon and a host of other fixtures from around the world.

The bet was placed in Stratford, East London, and would be priced at just over 45,900 to one.

Coral spokesman John Hill said: “This is a huge win for just a £1.20 stake.

“What makes this bet even more incredible is that the punter had two stoppage time goals in their favour and Hoffenheim came from 2-0 down with 10 men.”
