Phil backs rock Steph
Can The Bomber produce a major shock against the undisputed champion? PHIL NEVILLE has backed captain Steph Houghton to defy personal heartache and become England’s most capped woman ever.
Neville says Houghton, who will win her 100th cap against Sweden at Rotherham tomorrow, can challenge Fara Williams’ England record of 170 caps.
Houghton, 30, will be watched by husband Stephen Darby - the former Liverpool defender forced to retire after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
“You can’t ignore what she’s going through,” said Neville.
