But the widespread respect for his stewardship of the club in these tough times saw supporters cheer and sing his name in Cardiff.
He reflected: “We had a fantastic connection, a communion. All the support, all their songs, mean a lot for the players, staff, me, for the club .
“It was a lot of emotion we shared after the game. It was a fantastic feeling and a lot of strength and energy for all the club to continue this way.”
Leicester are to put up a statue of Srivaddhanaprabha outside their stadium.
