PAUL: MAYBE SACK IS CLEMENT TO BE

- BY ALEX CROOK

Championship: 3pm READING manager Paul Clement insists he does not fear the sack ahead of today’s crunch clash with fellow strugglers Ipswich.

The Royals are lining up former Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin (left) to replace Clement following a dire start to the season.

But defiant Clement said: “When results don’t go your way there is always speculation about your job and the possible options to replace you.

“I don’t worry about that. My worries go into trying to get results. As far as I’m concerned what will be will be.”

Ipswich star Cole Skuse is praying that history won’t repeat itself this season.

The Tractor Boys, with just one win all season, are five points adrift at the bottom of the Championship. That’s where midfielder Skuse (right) found himself with former club Bristol City when they were relegated to League One in 2013.

Skuse, 32, recalled: “That was a terrible experience.

“I never want to be relegated again and I’m confident we can get ourselves out of trouble.

“The gaffer (Paul Lambert) has been nothing but positive since he came in and it is rubbing off on us all. We still have enough games left.”
