November reign for Reshoun

-

TODAY marks the traditional end of the turf Flat season and we’re looking to sign off in style with a November Handicap winner.

The historic mile-anda-half contest has been held at many venues prior to settling at Doncaster in 1964.

And we can quickly reduce the number of likely candidates this afternoon by using the following trends: ■ Drawn nine or higher. ■ Top-four finish last time. ■ Good course form.

That leaves us with just five qualifiers from the 23-strong field — Royal Line, Restorer, Wolf Country, Erik The Red and Reshoun.

Erik The Red needs a career best to feature.

Royal Line was a beaten favourite last year and he faces the same fate from 9lb higher.

Wolf Country isn’t the most consistent, so we are down to two trained by Ian Williams (above) — Restorer and RESHOUN.

The latter looks the more progressive sort — have 2pts win at 12-1 with Ladbrokes.
