‘Ditch phone & talk to kids’

PARENTS should spend less time on phones and more with their kids, says the Education Secretary.

Damian Hinds wants adults to slash screen time because some children start school “unable to communicate effectively”.

The dad of three said: “One-to-one time without gadgets getting in the way is so valuable.”

Figures show more than a quarter of children finish reception year without basic early communication or reading skills they need to succeed at school.
