Joyrider, 13, did 100mph

A JOYRIDER aged 13 stole a car in a burglary and drove it at 100mph in a police chase, a court heard.

Police stopped the VW Golf with a spiked metal strip to shred the tyres.

The boy, of Shipley, West Yorks, who legally cannot be named, faced a string of charges and was given 18 months’ youth detention at Bradford crown court.

Shocked John Grogan, MP for Keighley where he was stopped, said: “He could have killed himself and others.”
