20 injured in ‘drink-drive’ bus smash
DRAMA Scene yesterday A BUS driver was arrested for suspected drink-driving yesterday following a crash which injured 20 people.
One passenger, a 15-year-old girl, is in a critical condition after the double decker smashed into a car, another bus and a bus shelter at 12.20pm.
The casualties were first treated at the scene at West Croydon bus station in South London.
London Ambulance Service said that 17 who suffered minor injuries were taken to hospital.
Scotland Yard confirmed an investigation into the collision is under way.
A spokesman added: “The driver of the bus has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and remains in custody at a South London police station.”
