50,000 back mum’s plea for a kidney
DESPERATE Joanne, 46 A MUM urgently appealing for a life-saving kidney has had support from more than 50,000 people.
Joanne D’Onofrio, 46, who is on dialysis after falling seriously ill, needs a matching live donor.
Joanne suffered kidney failure at 18 and had her first transplant a year later in 1991.
But her body is attacking the donor kidney, so the mother of two desperately needs another transplant.
Her appeal – made from the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle – has been shared more than 37,000 times with 14,000 likes.
Joanne, of Newcastle, has been “overwhelmed” by the response.
She wrote: “I’m actually at the end of the road now so need one pretty quickly to save my life.”
