‘TRUSTING’ POTTER SPELLS MAGIC FOR SWANS

- McKay 15 BY LIZ BYRNES

BOLTON SWANSEA DAN JAMES believes manager Graham Potter’s trust in his team to play 0 1 without fear has allowed Swansea to flourish.

James (right) marked his 21st birthday with a sparkling display as the Swans remained on the brink of the play-offs.

Barrie McKay unleashed an unstoppable first-time shot to score the only goal – and his first for the club – although they had to withstand a Bolton fightback in the second half.

James said: “That word freedom. I think everyone on the pitch has that. Graham tells us to play out of the back like we do and, if we make mistakes, he just says get on with it. It’s all about the reaction. He trusts everyone.”

Phil Parkinson believed his Bolton side were denied a penalty for a challenge on Erhun Oztumer as they sit second bottom.

He said: “No one is going to hand us three points, we have got to keep working for it.”
