MPs turn up the heat on Victims’ Law
MPS and peers will today press the Prime Minister over her pledge to create a victims of crime bill.
In a victory for the Mirror’s Victims’ Law campaign, Theresa May announced the Victims Strategy in September, with legislation expected to follow next year.
Campaigners want the law to give victims more legal rights. Now MPs are launching a group to monitor progress.
Harry Fletcher, of the Victims’ Rights Campaign, said: “Perpetrators have rights but victims have unenforceable codes.
“It is time to redress the imbalance with a robust victims’ law.”
