Tory denies overspend to beat Farage

-

A TOP Tory activist has told a court she did not breach spending limits in a bid to beat Nigel Farage in the 2015 general election.

Marion Little, 63, reportedly led the drive against the then-UKIP leader.

Tory Craig Mackinlay, 52, won South Thanet, in Kent, by 2,800 votes.

Little gave evidence yesterday in the Southwark crown court trial that began on October 16.

Asked if she falsified campaign expense documents she said: “I’d never do anything like that.”

Little denies assisting an offence and Mackinlay denies a false election expenses declaration.

The trial continues.
