Ritzy cost of poky rooms

TINY hotel rooms can cost more per square metre than a suite at the Ritz.

One hotel charges £144 for a single room less than five metres squared.

That is almost £30 per sqm for the “budget” room in Best Western Corona, Victoria, Central London.

The smallest suite at the Ritz costs £15.70 per sqm.

The Z Hotel in Soho charges £190 for an 8 sqm room – £23.75 per sqm.

Which? Travel, which carried out the investigation, said: “It’s surprising.”
