Many people take vitamin and mineral supplement­s even though they have neither signs or symptoms of vitamin deficiency. They probably aren’t doing themselves much harm, but a review of studies and trials with more than 18 million person-years of observatio­n found not the slightest hint of benefit – at least as far as cardiovasc­ular diseases are concerned. In summary – we shouldn’t waste our money.
