No butts, Bernard should have gone

ANTONIO RUDIGER has angrily claimed it was a “joke” that Everton midfielder Bernard was not sent off after their bust-up.

The Chelsea centre-half accused Bernard of being a “diver” and insisted that he headbutted him during their ugly flashpoint at Stamford Bridge (below).

Everton star Bernard, who is just 5ft 3in, sent giant 6ft 3in Rudiger crashing to the floor after the Brazilian appeared to push his head towards the Chelsea defender.

Referee Kevin Friend ended up booking both players for the incident, but Rudiger said:

“He was diving and I told him to stand up, and then he came with a lot of speed and hit me with his forehead, and I get a yellow card.

“To me that’s a joke. If there is VAR he would have been sent off.”
