‘Thierry’s job error’

LAURENT BLANC has claimed Thierry Henry made a mistake by taking his first job at Monaco.

The Arsenal legend turned down interest from Aston Villa to take over at his former club.

But Henry has not won in his first six games and the 2017 Ligue 1 champions face a season-long battle against relegation.

Former France coach Blanc, who has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2016, said: “I would have turned down the situation at Monaco.

“The situation is very dangerous for a first job. He knows Monaco well, but this does not feel good.”
