Clubs hurt by ‘friendly’ fire
CAN’T say I’m bothered either way about Wayne Rooney receiving his staged 120th cap against the USA, although it’s clearly an attempt by the FA to up the gate receipts.
I don’t think we should be concentrating on Rooney (left) but all the other players involved.
And asking this question: why are any of them playing in this utterly pointless fixture – the sixth international friendly or glorified friendly – in a season which has only had 12 domestic top-flight league games thus far, when they should be at their clubs working for the people who pay their wages?
