Six years for ex who set home blaze
TWISTED Philip Evans AN arsonist has been jailed for six years after burning down his ex’s house.
Philip Evans is thought to have planned to kill himself and ex-girlfriend Emma Paul, 42, in the fire.
But she left her home in Bournemouth just before he arrived, for an appointment that was actually booked for the next day.
Evans, 55, broke in, doused the house with flammable acetone and set a blaze on January 9. He then jumped from a firstfloor window, while the home was destroyed.
Emma had a restraining order against Evans, who admitted arson, being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.
He appeared at Bournemouth crown court and got six years and four months’ jail.
