F1 ace Lewis’ row on India
LEWIS Hamilton yesterday defended his claim that India is “such a poor place”.
The five-time F1 world champ, 33, caused offence by asking if races should be held there given the gap between rich and poor.
But he tried to justify his remarks by referring to the Indian Grand Prix, which ran from 2011 to 2013.
He said: “[It] felt strange to drive past homeless people and then arrive in a huge arena where money was not an issue.”
