Parents get in treat debt
A THIRD of parents have gone overdrawn or taken on new credit after their kids pestered them for treats, a survey reveals.
Toys and games were the most likely items with eating out, drinks and sweets and holidays also high on the list, the Money Advice Service found.
Some 37% said they caved in as they felt guilty for not being there for their children all the time.
Sarah Porretta, of the MAS, said parents getting into debt was “worrying”.
