The zen magnetism and laconic delivery of Keanu Reeves can’t bring heat to this bleak and chilly thriller which has echoes of a John Le Carre novel.

When a diamond salesman finds himself stranded in a freezing small town in Siberia, he has only two days to find a stash of missing gems or face being permanently left out in the cold. Ana Ularu’s glamorous bar owner offers comfort in a cold climate.

At best, Siberia’s a useful icebreaker while we wait for the third of Reeves’ John Wick films, which shoots into cinema in May.
