Asda’s recovery » has continued with sales up 2% in the three months to the end of September. It marked the sixth quarter in a row – equivalent to 18 months – of growth in what boss Roger Burnley called a “challengin­g market”. Asda is waiting to hear the provisiona­l findings of the Competitio­n and Markets Authority into its proposed merger with rival grocery chain Sainsbury’s.
