Promises, promises
LEAVING DATE
Theresa May vowed we would leave the EU at the end of 2020 after a transition period from March 2019. She now says the transition could be extended.
CUSTOMS UNION
The PM promised we would quit the customs union. But the draft agreement leaves open the possibility we could stay in it via a backstop if trade talks fail.
NORTHERN IRELAND
Mrs May said there cannot be different rules for Northern Ireland. But under the deal it could stay tied to EU regulation on farming and industrial goods.
MONEY
The PM vowed we would stop paying billions to the EU. The Brexit bill is £39billion and her latest deal agrees to pay even more beyond 2021.
ECJ
She said we would take back control of our laws. But we will stay under jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice during transition with this deal.
