THE Mirror today salutes everyone fighting back on the high street against online giants and rip-off parking fees.
We honour those who have battled to bring communities together, draw people in and put their towns on the map. They converted it into a shop, cafe and beauty salon. David, 44, now has five businesses, employing 80 people.
He also helped set up the local Business Improvement District, which transformed a street in Elgin, where half the shops stood empty in 2008. He says: “You need to stand up and be counted.”
