THE ‘Allo ‘Allo! painting of “The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies” is set to sell for up to £10,000 at auction.

The image – thought to have been created by one of the BBC comedy’s set designers – depicts a bare-chested woman with a landscape in the background.

The “masterpiece”, by fictional artist Van Klomp, was a key prop in the Second World War series.

The Nazis tried to steal it from the French but cafe owner Rene Artois, played by the late Gorden Kaye, hid it under his shirt and inside a sausage. Several were made but only one remains.

The current owner bought it from ’Allo ’Allo! production designer Shaun Moore at a fundraiser in 2007. It will be sold by East Bristol Auctions in Hanham, Bristol, with a guide price of £5,000-£10,000, on December 1.

Auctioneer Andrew Stowe said: “It is an iconic piece of television history, something the entire show was based around.

“In an ironic way, this ‘worthless’ fictional painting has become its own masterpiece.” AUCTION Fallen Madonna
