Ranieri has nothing to prove at Fulham

-

AS a Premier League manager, you know results will determine your fate and we’ve seen that with Slavisa Jokanovic at Fulham. I think it was wrong to sack Jokanovic. He got them into the Premier League and they’re just three points off safety.

I would have given him the international break and a bit longer. But they decided to go for Claudio Ranieri (left), and I’m glad to see him back. I know people will claim phone calls might have been made beforehand to get Ranieri in place so quickly, but that’s a good thing compared to sacking your manager without a plan.

I’ve seen on Twitter people saying we’ll see now if Ranieri is superhuman, but we’ve seen that already at Leicester because he won the league there.

He did something as a manager above and beyond expectations.

Pep Guardiola won the league and Champions League with Barca, you expect that. He won the league with Bayern Munich, you expect that. Probably the only thing Pep has done above and beyond expectations is to get over 100 points in the Premier League.

But Claudio won the league with Leicester – he has nothing to prove to anybody any more.
