Danny: Young people look at our elitist leaders & think ‘why shouldn’t I go and riot?’
DANNY Dyer has lashed out at elitist politicians who led the country into Brexit then scarpered as the going got tough.
The EastEnders star, 41, raged at the exploitation of working-class voters as the gap between rich and poor widens.
Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, bungling ex-Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and his fellow Old Etonian, former Prime Minister David Cameron, got the worst of Danny’s fury. The hardman actor, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, said: “They just don’t give a f***. This us-against-them-type vibe has got worse.
“We’re living in an age of foodbanks. How the f*** did that happen? Seriously.”
He added: “Boris running around with his stupid haircut spouting b ***** ks. Young people look and think, ‘If these are the people running the country, why shouldn’t I go and riot?’”
Danny, who previously dubbed Cameron a
“tw*t” on TV, repeated his assessment of the ex-PM. He told The Big Issue: “[Politicians] are floundering around. They’ve been given f***ing Brexit because of one man. One man. Who we voted in to be our PM, who purely for his own ego decided to call a referendum just to get rid of Nigel Farage.
“Farage, another pr**k in a suit who tapped into something – and I suppose it’s that white working-class, middle-age man who lost his voice slightly. He tapped into what he felt maybe they wanted to say and twisted it.
“He got a bit of a following, so Cameron decided to call a referendum just to get him. Well, f*** you, Cameron you posh tw*t. It backfired didn’t it? And what does he do? He doesn’t like the way it went and he f***s off.
“Look where we are now. If our leader is willing to say ‘oh, I can’t be bothered’, where is our structure? Where is the foundation?”
