UK plans on cyber threat ‘inadequate’
SHOCK Margaret Beckett MPs have branded the Government’s planning for growing cyber threats as “wholly inadequate”.
The Joint Committee on National Security Strategy warned Russia and other states are stepping up their capabilities for attacks.
But it found ministers are failing to react.
Chairwoman Margaret Beckett said: “We are struck by the absence of leadership in responding to this top-tier threat.”
The committee urged Theresa May to appoint a Cyber Security Minister.
It welcomed the new National Cyber Security Centre but insisted its expectations were “outstripping resources”.
