SCOTS DESPERATE FOR WORLD CUP REMATCH

BEN TOOLIS warned South Africa they can expect another bruising battle in a year’s time if they set up a World Cup rematch with Scotland.

The Springboks had to scrap all the way at Murrayfield as Gregor Townsend’s men again proved they are narrowing the gap on the world’s best teams.

The Scots exchanged tries from Peter Horne (right) and Hamish Watson with Rassie Erasmus’ men in a thrilling first half, but let the Boks off the hook after the break.

Edinburgh lock Toolis took heart from his side’s display. He said: “If we do play them at the World Cup they’ll know it won’t be an easy game.

“We’ll front up and won’t take a step back.”
