PAUL CADDIS bounded out of the wilderness as Bradford’s League One bantamweights at last showed signs of packing a punch.

The decline of a proud club amid fan protests against owner Edin Rahic has been one of the REF: ATT: PETERBOROUGH: BRADFORD: season’s storylines.

Already on his fifth manager of the year in David Hopkin, Rahic sent an SOS to former chairman Julian Rhodes earlier this month to help clear up the mess as a consultant.

And on the pitch, rock-bottom Bradford – League Cup finalists as a fourth-tier club in 2011 – have been going downhill faster than the Cresta Run.

Six wins in 38 league games since New Year’s Day is asking for trouble at any level. But former Scotland international Caddis, ACCRINGTON

BARNSLEY Woodrow 36, Moore 90 most 0 2

BARNSLEY boss Daniel Stendel wants more from his No.1 striker in the big shoot-out for promotion to the Championship. Kieffer depressing whose contract at Blackburn was torn up at the end of August, brought some Caledonian steel and know-how to the Bantams in his first game for three months.

City were well worth their point and debutant Caddis, 30, was relieved to escape the scrapheap. He said: “I was close to taking the kids out of school, cutting my losses and going home to Scotland, but my missus kept me sane. For the first time in 14 years, I didn’t have a club and they were difficult times.

“It was fantastic to get back on the pitch for the first time since Moore (left), at 6ft 5in, has answered the club’s tall order for goals with 10 this season for the Tykes.

But Stendel is not lighting a cigar over Moore’s exploits despite him laying on the first goal for Cauley Woodrow and securing the points with his second. Stendel, whose side battled for half an August. I don’t know what’s gone on before, but Bradford City has not been a depressing place to work – the manager’s done everything he can to keep the mood upbeat and I’ve seen the quality for myself in training.”

Posh, one home win in seven games, were lucky. Ivan Toney’s leveller after Anthony O’Connor struck for City should have been ruled offside.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony branded Peterborough’s performance a “s*** show”.

MOTM hour without sent-off defender Zeki Fryers, said: “Yes, Kieffer is a very good player for us but I think he can play better than that. He is playing a vital role as we chase promotion.”

Stendel also revealed keeper Jordan Smith, on an emergency one-week loan from Nottingham Forest, received a standing

PAUL CADDIS (BRADFORD) ovation in the dressing room for his heroic display as he saved from old boy Jordan Clark twice in front of a record 4,801 crowd.

Clark, who spent 15 years at the club before joining Shrewsbury in 2014. said: “I am a big Barnsley fan and it hurt when I got released. But you have to pick yourself up and I did.”
