MARVIN and Rochelle Humes have landed their own Saturday night series – a modern day version of Name That Tune. The former pop stars, who previously worked together on This Morning, will front BBC1’s Playlisters next year. They said: “It’s our first stand-alone show together and the fact it’s a format based on our love of music makes it all the more rewarding.

“We frequently put each other’s knowledge to the test at home, so we cannot wait to see how the contestants get on.”

The six-part series will feature three couples each week competing to win £10,000 by listening to pop songs and naming the title and artist. Each round is filled with hits ranging from the Sixties to the current charts.

Name That Tune was a hit show on ITV for more than a decade. Tom O’Connor presented from 1976 to 1983 when Lionel Blair took over until the show was axed in 1988. It was revived Pictures: GRACE KELLIE PHOTOGRAPHY by Channel 5 in 1997, with Jools Holland as host, but ended in 1998.

Producers say Playlisters will “get viewers shouting at the telly”.

BBC entertainment boss Kate Phillips said: “I can’t think of a better way to kick off Saturday nights. Hosted by the deeply competitive Rochelle and Marvin Humes, it’ll have everyone at home singing along.”

Marvin, 33, was a member of boyband JLS while wife Rochelle, 29, was in girl group The Saturdays.
