JUDD TRUMP is desperate to end a seven-year drought in snooker’s biggest tournaments.
The 29-year-old beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 9-7 in the final of the Northern Ireland Open at the weekend for “maybe the biggest win of my life”.
World No.5 Trump has for years been tipped as a future world champion, but has failed to win any of the three ‘majors’ since his breakthrough at the UK Championship in 2011. Trump (above) said: “It is about time I won one of the big ones – the UK Championship coming up, the Masters or the World Championship.
“This win gives me the confidence to win I have been missing over the last year because the form has basically been there. It is easy to not win events when Ronnie is around.” Caps Tries Points 79, Drop goals 3
