Live bombs found as flat is renovated

-

TWO live home-made bombs were found in an unoccupied flat that was being done up.

Anti-terror officers launched an investigation as the block was cleared and the improvised explosive devices made safe.

They were found in Harlesden, North West London, at 9.30am yesterday. Residents were allowed to return at 6pm.

There have been no arrests and police were “keeping an open mind” on how or why the bombs came to be in the flat.

Scotland Yard added: “Given the nature of the devices recovered, the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation.”
