Fury can run but can’t hide from my spies warns Wilder

- BY MARTIN DOMIN NO SECRETS

DEONTAY WILDER has followed every twist and turn of Tyson Fury’s haphazard preparation for their world-title fight – thanks to spies in his rival’s camp.

Fury trained 7,000ft above sea level in Big Bear, California, for a month before suddenly switching to the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles last week.

He has also added legendary trainer Freddie Roach to his team recently to assist rookie coach Ben Davison.

Heavyweight title-holder Wilder (below) is convinced the undefeated ex-champ is struggling to be fighting fit for their clash on Saturday week.

He said: “He could not handle the heat and the altitude, he was so high up over there that he could not breathe.

“I have trained in Colorado and it’s similar, you can’t breathe up there. I lived, ran and sparred up there and it was hard when you are not used to it.

“That is why he’s had to come down to sea level to have the best chance in this fight. Just being up there for two weeks isn’t going to be enough time to prepare for me. Either you have stamina or you don’t.

“Most guys go to Big Bear to get their lungs to expand, so that, when they go back down to sea level, they can breathe differently.

“It’s funny, all he’s done or is doing I’ve known about – he’s in my country. I have eyes and ears everywhere.

“I have friends all over the world and when people love you, they love you and they go all the way for you.

“Once you connect with one person they help you connect with others, then you just wait for a phone call.” ■ WILDER vs Fury is live and exclusive on BT Sport Box Office, December 1.
