Taylor’s done sweet PFA for ailing players

-

I’VE written so many words about PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor, the obscene amount of money he takes out of the union while so many former players suffer hardship, and his ineffectiveness at every task bar clinging to power, I’m currently feeling like an East German in the months before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The question must be asked, if disgruntled players do manage to end to his 37 years of unchallenged autocracy, what took them so long?

As for Taylor (left), I’m sure he’ll enjoy a happy retirement. Although with enough trains full of gravy parked in his pension sidings to buy a whole region of Spain to retire to, if I were him I wouldn’t think of asking his members to do a Richard Scudamore with a £5million golden goodbye.

As a middle finger often offends.
