Tree climbing on bucket-list for children
CHILDREN could be encouraged to climb a tree, stargaze and try yoga if they follow a bucket-list drawn up by ministers.
Exploring a cave, knitting and growing vegetables may also be among the goals that Education Secretary Damian Hinds is due to publish.
He said: “Bluntly, it is about doing stuff that does not involve looking at a screen. It’s about getting out and about.”
The idea comes from Mr Hinds’ visit to St Werburgh’s Primary, Bristol, where pupils are given a “passport” of character-building activities.
That list is based on the National Trust’s “50 things to do before you’re 11¾”.
