Heart attack gender flaw
SOME 8,200 women over a decade may have survived their heart attack had they been given the same quality of treatment as men, a study claims.
And the number is likely to be higher as the University of Leeds’ 10-year analysis of 691,290 patients did not include admissions to all hospitals.
Prof Sir Nilesh Samani, from the British Heart Foundation, said: “We need to tackle the false perception heart attacks are only a male issue.”
