The day to give back
■ It’s impossible to ignore that Christmas is fast approaching, but after today’s Black Friday sales, #GivingTuesday next week is a day to do little things that can make a big difference to others. Whether we donate money to charity, volunteer, or give clothes to a charity shop, we can all give something back.
Even a small gesture for #GivingTuesday could make a difference to someone’s Christmas.
Please join the 2,500plus charities and firms, and millions of people in the UK doing good stuff for #GivingTuesday. There are loads of ideas at givingtuesday.org.uk. Ben Russell, director of Communications Charities Aid Foundation
How incredibly sad and upsetting to read of the death of 16-year-old Trixie Hart, the young lady who auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent.
Trixie’s family say she was targeted by jealous bullies. She was so talented but they say she chose to cut off what was a very promising future because of the abuse she suffered.
My heart goes out to her family. Lorna Twaddle Arbroath, Angus
