Luca out of luck on final run

LUCA CUMANI missed out with the final runner of his legendary training career when Swansdown finished second at Wolverhampton yesterday.

The 69-year-old dual Derby winner’s runner went off the 6-5 favourite but gave best to 7-1 scorer Fitwood Star.

“The draw beat her — she ended up with too much ground to make up,” said Cumani (above), speaking from Newmarket.

“But I’ve been very, lucky to have trained some very, very good horses.”

LAURINA will miss tomorrow’s Coral Hurdle at Ascot.The Willie Mullins-trained mare was 8-13 yesterday with Paddy Power, who now list We Have A Dream as the 5-4 favourite, and the firm’s Paul Binfield said: “It will be tight between We Have A Dream and If The Cap Fits.”
