Charles: We must recycle to save earth

- BY LIZZIE ROBERTS

PRINCE Charles has urged people to get better at recycling, to “sort out the mess” and save the planet.

The royal, 70, told business leaders: “We are the first generation to understand, in full detail, that we are destroying our world. We are the last to be able to do something about it.”

He added: “If we do not act, our children and grandchildren will not be able to sort out the mess.

“It is clear recycling is part of the answer. We have become good at making things. Now we need to get much better at unmaking and remaking.”

Charles spoke at the Waste to Wealth summit, Central London, yesterday.

It came as major brands such as Heineken, Greggs and Sky vowed to reduce avoidable waste by 2030.
