Stop migrant dinghies plea

AN MP last night called for action to stop migrants trying to reach Britain by dinghy after eight more were picked up yesterday.

The men, said to be Iranian, were spotted off Kent and taken ashore to be interviewed.

Dover’s Tory MP Charlie Elphicke said: “The French and Home Office must do more to put a stop to these dangerous crossings.”

On Thursday 14 other suspected immigrants were picked up. More than 80 have tried to enter the UK in the past two weeks.
