- BY AMY-CLARE MARTIN

FORMER England boss Glenn Hoddle has returned home to recover following surgery after he had a heart attack on his birthday last month.

A family spokesman said of the 61-year-old: “He responded well to treatment and is now at home recuperating from the procedure.

“Doctors have outlined that rest is paramount for Glenn now. His family would like to thank the RECOVERY pundit Glenn Hoddle hospital staff and the many people who have sent supportive messages.” The ex-England and Spurs star collapsed while filming with Robbie Savage at the BT Sport studios on October 27. TV soundman, Simon Daniels, 47, was hailed for saving his life with a defibrillator. Yesterday Mirror football columnist Robbie added: “Great great news.” Spurs said they were “delighted Glenn has responded well”.
