Dad-of-four Powell, right, who has represented Wales in re-enactments, told police he had the weapons in his car boot as he was a “medieval sports enthusiast”. Powell of Newport, South Wales, was convicted at the city’s crown court of having the weapons but cleared of using them to make threats. He got a 12-month community order.
