Teen on sex register over cinema grope

SENTENCE Callum Chant A LAD of 18 who felt the clothed bottom of a girl aged 14 at the cinema must sign the sex offender register for five years.

Callum Chant was sitting close to the girl and was spotted by her mother who had gone to check on them. She later obtained CCTV from the cinema.

Chant was arrested and given a child abduction warning, telling him to stay away from younger girls.

He was detained three months later after a girl of 15 was found at his flat in Bury, Gtr Manchester.

At Manchester Minshull Street crown court Chant, now 19, admitted sex activity with a girl under 15 and child abduction. He got a two-year community order and four-month curfew. The judge told him he was “extremely lucky”.
