Flier jailed after yelling ‘We are all going to die!’
A WOMAN who got drunk on a plane and screamed “we’re all going to die!” when the pilot aborted a landing has been jailed.
Kiran Jagdev, 41, caused a woman to have a seizure by kicking the seat in front on the Jet2.com flight from Tenerife to East Midlands Airport.
Jagdev drank six pints before boarding, had six glasses of wine on the plane and drank booze from her bag when staff refused to serve her. After high winds forced the plane to abort its landing, she stood up, yelling: “We are all going to die!”.
She also propositioned an offduty police officer trying to calm her down, Leicester crown court heard. Jagdev, a PA, of New Parks, Leicester, admitted being drunk on an aircraft and was jailed for six months.
Judge Philip Head told her: “This was a dreadful experience for all of those exposed to your behaviour.
“This demands a deterrent sentence so that people who travel by air and get drunk will know there are consequences.”
