FOREST READY TO SHUT THE DAW ON TIGERS

- BY BRENDAN McLOUGHLIN

AITOR KARANKA said Michael Dawson is ready to pile the misery on his old club.

Dawson rejoined Nottingham Forest on a free in the summer from Hull, whose boss Nigel Adkins said that the defender was key to his team surviving last year.

The Tigers are back in the drop zone and Reds chief Karanka said: “If he plays, Michael might be the most motivated player on the pitch. I have spoken with him in the last few days, but he did not tell me anything that I did not know.

“We played against Hull last season twice, I have played against them when we won promotion with Middlesbrough. I know the stadium, I know the club, I know everything about them.

“But we can not be fooled by their position in the table. They have very good players. It will be tough.”
