Couple marry on death bed
STAFF organised a wedding in just two hours after Pamela Stubbs learned her partner of 28 years was about to die.
Nurse Liz Jellyman rustled up a chaplain, dress, cake and flowers and invited guests to the Royal Stoke Hospital, Staffs.
Hours later groom Philip Stubbs, 50, lost his cancer fight. Pamela, 55, from Wood Lane, Staffs, said: “We kept saying we’d wed but never got round to it. I’m so glad we did.”
